Professor Jonathan Rapping from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School was chosen by Russell Simmons and his media company, All Things Def, to participate in a civic discussion at the Montalban Theater in Los Angeles.
In addition to Professor Rapping, the panel included Nick Cannon; National Bar Association President Benjamin Crump, who represented the household of Trayvon Martin; National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives President Gregory Thomas; and New York Civil Liberties Union Executive Director Donna Lieberman. The occasion was moderated by previous MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry.
The town hall was organized as a public forum upon which various leaders within the community could discuss recent civilian deaths and the need for criminal justice reform. Visit Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School to learn more.
